ARTIST'S BIO Originally from Nashville, TN, Born studied oil painting and printmaking under the instruction of Rosemary Paschall at Montgomery Bell Academy. A graduate of Emory University with a BBA in Accounting/Marketing and Art History, he served as Treasurer of the STIPE society of creative scholars. While working towards his Studio Art minor, he focused much of his attention on modernist sculpture under the instruction of Linda Armstrong and received the commendation for outstanding work in sculpture from Emory's Studio Art department. Upon graduation from Emory, Born attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a Master of Accounting Science. Upon completion of his Masters degree, he returned to Atlanta to work for a "Big Four" accounting firm. He sat for the Uniform CPA Examination, passing all four parts in his first attempt, and subsequently received his CPA license in the state of Tennessee. Born's work has been displayed in both student and local artist exhibitions in Nashville, Atlanta, and New York City since 1996. He was awarded a Gold Award in Painting at the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards where his work was exhibited at the Corcoran Museum in Washington, DC in the summer of 1997. His portfolio specializes in oil and acrylic painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. BUSINESS BIORyan Born is a CPA with experience in financial accounting, auditing and corporate income tax. His business experience stems from his past tenure in public accounting and his present endeavors as the Vice President of Finance and Financial Controller of a digital commerce company that operates a network of digital photography brands. In addition, Mr. Born serves on the Board of Advisors of NewCondosOnline Inc., an online real-estate start-up company that specializes in connecting buyers and sellers of new and pre-construction condominiums. Ryan started his career as a Associate in the Atlanta office of a "Big Four" accounting firm's Assurance and Business Advisory Services Practice where he gained experience in an array of industries including Consumer Industrial Products and Services, Real Estate and Banking, as well as Non-Profit. After completing his audit training in Atlanta, Mr. Born transferred to New York City to broaden his accounting experience in the firm's Tax and Legal Services division where he specialized in Insurance. He later resigned from the firm to work at the digital commerce company, MediaVast Inc., where he presently serves as VP of Finance and Financial Controller. Mr. Born graduated Beta Gamma Sigma with an undergraduate degree in Accounting/Marketing and Art history from Emory University in Atlanta. In addition, Mr. Born possesses a Masters of Accounting Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds an active CPA license with the State Board of Accountancy of his home state, Tennessee. |
